Camino de Santiago - Storytelling Presentation

Paths connect. This is their first duty and their chief reason for being. They relate places in a literal sense, and by extension they relate people.

With my fellow presenters -

During the summer of 2015, I embarked on a journey that took me over the French Pyrenees and across northern Spain. I walked a total of 906 km (560 mi) on the Camino de Santiago from St. Jean Pied de Port, Franch to Muxía, Spain. However, the journey was as much inward as it was outward. I was challenged both mentally and physically. I never felt so alive.

In an effort to preserve this experience, I utilized several different methods of storytelling while on the Camino, including journaling, illustrations, and photography. Combined they make up my most treasured souvenirs.

Last night, I had the honor of giving a talk for the Sacramento Chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino. My talk centered around the art of storytelling and why knowing the story you want to tell is an important part of your "Camino Experience". The presentation also showcased select photos and illustrations from my time on the Way. I'm currently working on making a collection of Camino prints available for sale, so keep an eye out or shoot me an email.

January Art Display at Sactown Union Brewery

As we approach the new year, it is time for goal setting and actualizing those goals. In 2019, I intend on connecting with more local businesses to display my artwork.

Sactown Union Brewery is helping me meet this goal by offering to display my work for the entire month of January!

Berkeley REI Art Booth (Aug 12) and New Prints

Life has been a little crazy lately, but I'm so excited to finally share this news with you!

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by a manager at the Berkeley REI Store. They offered me the opportunity to sell my art at their next Garage Sale on August 12. This will be my first selling artwork in a booth, so I have some prep work to get done. Hopefully, I'll see some familiar faces in the crowd. Let me know if you'll be in the area!

I've just placed a new print order, including three new prints. New prints will be released at this event, then will be added to my online store

Happy Anniversary, Bear of Yosemite!

Happy Anniversary, Bear of Yosemite!

When I was three months old, my parents took me on my first trip to Yosemite NP. Although I was too young to remember, my mom has told me countless times about how a bear came to visit our tent in the middle of the night. She was struck with fear as it circled us and how its breath rattled the tent's thin nylon walls. Eventually, the bear lost interest, but that memory seems to be engraved in my mom's mind forever.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to my Bear of Yosemite Illustration! Take $2 off tee shirts featuring its image during the month of June. Also, check out the Limited Release - Blue Bear of Yosemite.

Print Shop Goes live

After a year of dreaming and hard work, I'm so stoked to an announce that my Print Shop is now LIVE! You can order signed fine art giclee prints from anywhere in the US and expect it in about a week!

If you live in the Sacramento Area (and want to pick up your prints in person), I'm still working on an option for you. It may be another week or so, but feel free to shoot me an email.

Also, a big thank you to everyone who has helped me get this site up and running. I feel truly blessed.

Sacramento REI Community Art Wall

Many people know REI for their great gear and expert advice. I feel so fortunate to be a part of their team/family at the Folsom store. Over the years they have seen me grow and come into my own; they've also been extremely supportive of my artistic endeavors. Last year, I was granted permission to display my work at the Folsom store and now I've been given the opportunity to show my work at the Sacramento location

I'm extremely honored to be the first feature artist on the Sacramento REI's Local Artist Wall. The display is located inside their community room. Next time you're in  for a class, check it out! It should be up for the next month or so.

Sacramento REI and Ragnar Trail Tahoe Display

My good friends at the Sacramento REI reached out to me a couple weeks ago to create some art for their Ragnar Trail Tahoe display. This project presented several challenges, such as working on a large (24 in x 42 in) board and using chalk pens for the first time. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Go check it out and let me know what you think!
